Why would I care or why would people on this forum care, since we are atheists? What do I care if people pray to Santa or Easter Bunny? Or if they pray to a guy who walked on water or the guy who rode on a flying donkey?
Besides, this just proves to all those liberal Muslims and liberal Christians who claim how Islam and Christianity are so alike, that they are not, and are in fact very divisive. No Muslim who find himself abroad will go to catholic church to satisfy his weekly rites in his relationship with imaginary friend popularly called Allah, just as no catholic will go to a mosque, nor will that catholic go to an orthodox or Mormon church.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
