A cargo ship that was moored near the warehouse was picked bodily up by the tidal wave and set down On top of a nearby pier. The part of the ship’s hull that was above water and hit by the Air blast Is opened up like a torn paper bag.
The cruise ship Orient Queen was berth on the other side of the basin suffered underwater damage when thrown against the jetty by the tidal wave, and capsized a few hours later.
Two other KSL line cargo ship berthed nearby are still afloat but their upper works have been razed by the explosion”
I was looking at an aerial photo yesterday and though there had a ship capsized, a white one. Looked like a passenger liner with white painting.
