That’s not how stats are figured. Winning percentage is calculated on the games played, not on the games available to be played. For the World Series, it’s calculated on the basis of how many times a particular team actually played in the Series, not on how many times they could potentially have played.
Since this started life as a gun thread, let’s try a gun analogy. You go to a firing range with 100 shells available to you. You shoot five times and make five bullseyes, then you go home.
Is your ‘bullseye percentage’ 100% or 5%?
