Of course the GOP don’t give a shit. But, at this point, it isn’t about removing Trump from office. It’s about Democrats calling attention to GOP hypocrisy over the SCOTUS nomination and blocking it. Trump has committed a raft of offenses for which he has not been impeached. If they wait until after the election, it’s going to be too late - Trump’s nominee will be confirmed by his lapdog Senate.
Fuck the swing voters.

No it is not spineless.
Japan's Imperial Army lost because it's had an all or nothing tactic. They stupidly thought volume would do the trick. In many battles in the Pacific the Allies/ Americans were outnumbered, and many times we were. But we still won, because of tactics.
The only viable tactic right now I see that can put us back on the right track is VOTING. The GOP in congress are unreasonable. A Trump loss in November and taking over Senate will put us in a far better position than to risk alienating voters now.
Of course it's spineless. When you turn your back on an obligation that is both legal and moral in the hope of political gain, it is the very definition of spineless.
Japan lost because they badly underestimated the US reaction to the attack on Pearl Harbor. There was no 'all or nothing tactic'. There wasn't even an all or nothing strategy.
There aren't enough voters to alienate that would affect the outcome of the election. The biggest effect of another impeachment would be to increase voter turnout. Since it would increase on both sides, it's a wash.
