Why are Christians against evolution?

You are absolutely correct Johnny,fundamentalist protestants are very literal in their interpretation of Genesis and find evolution offensive.The more liberal branches of christianity have in some cases modified their theology to accomodate evolution.

The problem of evil and sin is sort of the thorn in the side of christianity since it implies that God being ominiscient knew it was coming and allowed it or being omnipotent either chose not to prevent it or could not prevent it.Putting in question the character of God.It is my opinion that we all have a dual nature one which is inclined toward civility and goodness and the other more savage aspect of our psyche inclined towards criminal behavior and evil.This is a natural part of our make up and does not require an explanation of origins.

Evil and good are determined by the society in which we are born and or bred in.What might be constituted evil to one society,might be perfectly normal to another.Cannibalism is a perfect example of this.Most modern societies consider this an appalling and evil act,but in some of the older more primitive tribal cultures it was at one time a perfectly normal practice.
