I can open a beer with ANYTHING metal or hard plastic. I can open a beer with any coin larger than a quarter...

I just use the edge of a table or anything with a sharper inclination of 90 degrees (right angle), that I figure is durable enough.

Oh, I learned the hard way to NOT use 2 bottle caps, to open the other bottle ... I swore it would work again for the umpteenth time. What a fucking mess, and I had to change my beer stained pants and do some cleaning duty while the guys had a laugh. But it was a good time all round even though everyone was wasted there. Nice guitar music and song, too, by my best friend.
