The action is the same. The intent is the same. At the time of action, the adulterer was lying and risking the harm to others.
Saying it's OK because nothing bad happened is like pleading "not guilty" to attempted murder on the grounds that you failed and so no harm was done.
Stat said if no one knows, your using an argument in which the crime is known. If the attempted murder was not known about then what harm is there. If no one knows then the one attempting the murder would not have to plead to anything, no harm no foul. I do not think I could count the number of times I've heard people say that if one is not caught in a lie no harm has been done and I've heard it on this forum too.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
