My mom was only 17 when she had me and she loved to dance and loved dance music so American Bandstand was the way to go. **It's got a good beat and you can dance to it.** That's surely where I get my love for music of the 60s from.
-an aside - when she and dad started dating he didn't dance. She told him she wouldn't date him if he didn't dance. He learned. In later years I cocktail waitressed at a place that used to have occasional dances and saw them dancing...they were really good.
