An AR15 is not a "Weapon of War" any more than an M1 Garand - less so in fact - because this is a SEMI AUTOMATIC chambered in .223 Remington not 5.56 NATO.
It just LOOKS like one.
The Garand was once a standard issue military rifle that is now obsolete. The AR-15 was not a standard issue rifle - although the Coast Guard did use itwhile I was in. Full auto for civilian law enforcement - especially on a ship where ricochets were a very real hazard - was frowned upon by the DOT. (YES - Dept of Transportation)
We use the AR15 because it cannot be beat in terms of reliability and accuracy - for the money.
And.
I don't hunt for "sport". It is a stupid idea. Period.
Never have. Never will.
