Mike Ilitch, the founder of Little Caesar's Pizza, paid Rosa Parks' rent for more than ten years. When he learned that the 81 year old Parks had been beaten and robbed in 1994, he arranged for her to move to a safer apartment and set up a trust to cover her housing expenses. He paid her rent every month until she died in 2005.
