Same thing - but instead of your dog - you say it' s an invisible man who created the universe - your neighbors will all pitch in and buy you a building so you can tell everyone about it. Tax free.

It appears that your predicament is best illustrated by this part of holy Scripture: "But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." - 1 Corinthians 2:14
I can tell you from personal experience, having remarkably done a 180 degree turn from what I used to be (not by my power) - that unless GOD magnanimously reveals Truth - one cannot see.
It is imperative to exercise humility because "GOD resists the proud but gives grace to the humble".
Upon this occurrence, one would be inclined to say - much like the former slave trader John Newton (among many others) - "I once was lost, but now am found, was blind but now I see."
