You’re wrong. The Japanese pronunciation of ‘Japan’ is ‘Japan’. The Japanese name for Japan is ‘Nippon’ or ‘Nihon’

Oh my Thor, how would I know, I was only married to a Japanese woman. Trust me, they don't pronounce "Japan" "Japan" that is a western pronunciation. The name for Japan as you said is "Nippon" or "Nihon". "Japan" is a western mispronunciation.
