There is a difference between being on the social left and economic right. Arnold always supported the economic right. He ran and won on the GOP ticket to become Governor of California.
Don't confuse being for not taxing the rich with being for not being dicks to minorities. Arnold was always for "let the rich fuck everyone else". What he never got a grasp on is how that would impact minorities.
It is the same logic one can argue as to why "Log Cabin" Republicans, gay republicans vote for that party. Huge difference between being on the social left and economic right.
