It's not 'like' a drug, it IS a drug: the combined trance and prolonged rythmic movement induces the glands to produce endorfins. Basically the body's own morfine.
Long distance runners have the same, only stronger. They have to do 5 miles plus everyday: when the body starts aching after a few miles the glands kick in to produce endorfins.
And they call it 'keeping in shape'. But they're really masochistic junkies getting their fix.
