Objections to a work of art don’t even have to be valid to set certain circles of the Internet in a tizzy. If people actually checked to make sure their objections to something are actually valid, we wouldn’t have groups like Qanon, would we?
And here’s a case study in how people can be thrown into an absolute tizzy over fuck-all. Namely, that the designer of a controversial game allegedly had sex with a game reviewer in exchange for a positive review (and by a positive review, I mean an article with a cheeky title, a list of 50 games, and five words about it of which two were the game’s title and a third being the software it was made with; as well as another article about a failed reality show pilot they took part in that only quoted a blog post from said designer), and that this would somehow cause her to profit from a game that costs absolutely nothing to download and play.
