You're still not getting it. Facui didn't say he was science, antivaxxers attacks as if he was science.
NIH didn't fund gain of function, the funding was used in an untended way, without NIH prior knowledge. Lets put this into a scenario that maybe you can understand. IA pays a contractor in advance to fix his house and get supplies. The contractor uses the money to buy a gun and robs the lumberyard for supplies. According to your logic IA robbed the lumber yard.
And jesus fucking christ, the author (Discovery Inst senior fellow) has little credibility when it comes to science: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wesley_J._Smith
There may be E. coli where you have your head.

IA, please notice that these articels are not written by a lawyer tied to creation science.: https://www.science.org/content/author/jocelyn-kaiser
Function was gained. I'm aware that the gain of function was not necessarily intended. This does not make Fauci any less dishonest. Look at the definition below. "The term gain of function research describes a type of research that modifies a biological agent so that it confers new or enhanced activity to that agent." This definition was from the NIH website. The definition does not say that the gain of function has to be intentional. Just that it has to gain function, which it did. Please tell me what I'm missing here. The NIH erasing that definition from their website and moving the goalposts does not make me wrong. It shows that they are attempting to hide something. I understand that you don't like Rand Paul and think he's a jackass. I do as well, for the most part, but that doesn't mean Rand Paul's criticism of Dr. Fauci hasn't been decently fair. Lying to congress is a serious issue and should not be taken lightly.
