Misinformation dilemma.

If everyone had equal access and understanding of any given issue would there some kind of consensus opinion? Perhaps, but I doubt it very much. Intelligent well-informed and well-meaning people can still reach different conclusions IMHO.

Unfortunately this is rational approach to opinion.  Reason and rational thinking have been cast aside and fear, selfishness and in-group thinking are prevailing.  We can't have a rational discussion about something if only one party shows up with a willingness to accept reality.  It's like two groups agreeing to play baseball, but one shows up with gloves, bats and balls and the other shows up with AK-47s.
