And just for perspective, under normal circumstances, the leading cause of death in America would be heart disease. In 2020, 696,962 people died of heart disease. Divided by the 366 days in that year, that means about 1,904 people died of heart disease daily. Yesterday, COVID killed 1.88 times the number than would be expected for heart disease. But, hey, just because it’s killing more people in a day than the #1 cause of death doesn’t mean it’s a big deal!
