I cannot thank you enough. You explain things I'm thinking myself but for some reason can't articulate quite as well. I agree with the "exceptional people" premise. I think most people are OK with being slaves (or at least, OK enough to not do anything about it) just as long as their "betters" grant them some kind of superficial freedom. But most people's lives aren't real freedom, and those of us (i.e. me) who want to live lives of true freedom are severely limited in what we can do by the majority opinion of things, which is that, it's OK (or even good/noble/cool etc.) to be a slave. Most people are fucking clueless. I wish I could live on some other planet, away from the idiots.

Relatable. I really appreciate the thanks but there's really no need to thank me. But if you are just saying you appreciate my words then I appreciate that you appreciate them. So there's that at least.

Also, better even one or two awesome friends than one thousand false ones.

Hell, better no friends than a thousand false ones.

I'm a hermit for a reason! I was self-isolating before COVID. And not out of some weird conspiracy theory or paranoia ... just out a preference for my own company.

Great thing about the internet is you can socialize and befriend from a safe distance. Stupidity is dangerous and, thus, stupid people are dangerous, and, thus, most company is dangerous.

It's all relative though. A very stupid person's behaviour may be improved by hanging out with a not quite so very stupid person. It's all relative.

Leave you with this:

“To be alone is the fate of all great minds – a fate deplored at times, but still always chosen as the less grievous of two evils.”
— Arthur Schopenhauer

P.S.

I have fewer than six friends, by the by. At most.

They are awesome people.
