Ann Druyan and Carl Sagan had wanted “Heres Comes the Sun” by the Beatles on the Voyager spacecraft’s Golden Record. The Beatles themselves also wanted it there! The record label, however, wanted NASA to pay up the wazoo for the rights to shoot the song into space, I suppose to make up for lost sales revenue from alien record stores and interstellar piracy.
