(to be blunt, I like big fucking dogs and/or dogs with big fuckin families, dogs otherwise dangerous if you can't treat them properly. I specifically like them for that - and they end up as pillows, not just for me, for toddlers too. There's something I appreciate about an animal that could fuck your day up..but doesn't want to. You never have to worry that you're not putting in the work.)
Over the years I have had a Doberman and GSD. The Dobe was a little iffy and I ended up finding him a new home as I didn't really trust him around kids. The GSD thought she was a lap dog. But if she didn't like someone, you knew it...she didn't hide her feelings toward some people.
The Golden I had in my early 20s was the best dog ever.
As for home dangers - I am the biggest danger to myself having a little too much klutz in my makeup. Most of my injuries are definitely my fault, I own it. And at my age, I am even capable of injury while asleep. Keeps things interesting.
