Currently watching Zack Snyder’s Watchmen (the Ultimate Cut). It’s a good film, even if it has some glaring flaws, like the fact that Snyder didn’t have the bollocks to make it 5 1/2 hours long (thus covering everything), or the fact that some of the actors didn’t give a good performance, like Billy Crudup’s Dr. Manhattan, so thoroughly alienated from humanity to the point where he almost seems like a textbook case of Schizoid Personality Disorder, seems way too emotional.
Meanwhile, for a good-sized portion of the pre-production time, he was supposed to be played by Keanu Reeves. And knowing about how reticent he is IRL, how great his acting chops truly are, and being alive to remember that around the time the movie was filmed, public consensus of his acting was, well,
I’m still shocked that he turned the part down (apparently because it would have conflicted with the Day the Earth Stood Still remake). He would have been perfect.

Comparing the Universal Oneness of All Life to Yo Mama since 2010.
