It’s amazing to me, as a gun enthusiast, that the nuts first impulse after a mass shooting is to threaten even more death if anyone tries to do something about it. You don’t have to be a galaxy brain to realize that’s a losing pitch.
Imagine…if every time some drunk teen plowed through a stand of trees….full grown adults promised to drive their own cars into tree if we did anything to prevent it.
Im more and more convinced of something my grandfather explained to me as we bonded over shooting. A perfect scene, imo, especially compared to the circus of depravity approach.
The nuts are going to ruin this for all of us. For whatever reason, we’re essentially okay with some as yet unknown number of mass shootings. It won’t be the shootings themselves that threaten the status quo- or it’d long since have ceased to be. It’s the nuts, threatening to engage their own state in a firefight. Won’t even be the libs that do it. It’ll be the tough on crime anti terrorism squad. Then, when the doors start coming off the hinges, those same nuts aren’t going to make any credible account of the force they threaten to employ. They’ll end up half naked crying on the floor, confused as shit, like everyone else does.
