Maybe a desparate need for approval...positive or negative. They have some whacky ideas they need to express and somehow feel that AF will give them a response...either confirming their whacky secular ideas or they imagine atheists will recoil in defeat to their whacy religious ideas. Not getting the response for which they hoped brings out their lack of social media skills (like following forum rules) and they fall to the ban hammer. I have to admire those A F members who correctly call out the ill-fortunes of the soon to be banned.
