This unrelenting heat is ridiculous. I've been in the DFW area since 2006 and this is the worst I can remember.
That hotel fire last night is just up the freeway a bit from me - apparently they shut down all of the freeway for a while and had hours of delays. Then I turn on the news and see the wildfires out to the west.... Sheesh. Not sure if the heat was a factor in starting the hotel one, but it certainly did not help in containing it. I may drive past later to see the aftermath, but it looks like a total destruction. I'm amazed that nothing else went up along with it.
But.... at least (after $2,000 in repair) I have AC in my car again....
