Unlike the byzantine regulations of the DMV (shortly before the world ended, I found out that, apparently, my fucking birth certificate showing I was born in Chicago is somehow not sufficient to prove I am an American Citizen and thus eligible for Real ID), or the long-term impact of generational wealth, this is something that can be rectified fairly simply. It might be a bit harder to distribute more vaccination sites in black-majority areas (I don't know how the CDC chooses these things), but at least that's comparatively simple to fix.
Nope, that's not the solution. If you had a vaccine mandate in schools all around the country, tens of millions of children would be barred from school due to having hard liner true believer parents who wouldn't take the vaxx for a million bucks. The only solution is to do what the CDC did. Suggest no mandates whatsoever, but let the parents choose. Vaccines help with severity of infection, but they don't prevent spread, which is in part why the CDC relaxed restrictions so, so much lately. Did you know that the CDC say an unvaccinated at school and a vaccinated child should be treated the exact same? No social distancing for either of them. No isolating after coming into contact with a positive case. Time for all of us here to move forward and accept that the CDCs new recommendations are for the best. With mandates, the country would fall apart and a generation of children would be completely fucked.
