Up until a few years ago, I thought I was from another dimension outside this universe. Life is funny. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Or, more germane, we are the best of people, we are the worst of people. All of us. Even Hitler had a mother who loved him. Slow down. Worry about the simple things, the concrete. Leave the more nuanced, complex, indecipherable shit to God, or fate, whichever you prefer. In the East they have a saying: chop wood, carry water. We don't actually need more than the simple tasks of daily living to be content, well-aimed, and fulfilled. Attend to that which is within your power to control and tell the rest to go fuck itself.
