I think it's one of those things that they believe, but know better than to advertise, because they know that will alienate voters. Like their assumption that, if a certain group of voters is voting against them, then this group shouldn't be allowed to vote.

Yes, these people are going after 18-21-year-olds' right to vote, and not even because they lost in the midterms, but because their majorities in Congress might be a bit slim. Good thing the 26th Amendment is harder for them to crack than Roe v. Wade or the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
