Yes. I’ve heard about this incident in da TV Documentary. There is also a 2015 soap opera called “Deutschland 83” that features the life of a Stazi Spy in West Berlin with one episode featuring this particular event. It is in fact some sort of miracle that the east-block side decided to remain even tempered during this event so that each and every one of us have somehow managed to keep living long enough to witness the extremes of this post-soviet era tyrant
Another great personality from the 80’s is Garri Kasparov who became world chess champion in 1985 and maintained his title until the year 2000. He is mostly known by my generation by beating a computer software called Deep Blue in 1996. The IBM engineers of Deep Blue have developed this machine further during one year and in 1997, Deep Blue became the first machine to beat a human world chess champion.
