You always have attics and basements in the U.S, attics for hauntings and ghosts, and basements for hiding Saddam or Bin Laden.

Do you have a spare Bin Laden (70s version)+ 1 or 2 WMDs I can borrow??

Basements are more of thing in the colder climates where pipes need to be protected from long, cold winter weather.  We do NOT have a basement.  We do have an attic, but you didn't mention that.  

The only terrorists in the attic are squirrels from time to time.
