Not quite extinct. You can still find them in some other countries, particularly in nations like Burma or Thailand, (where they’re exported to China and Japan). If not there, you might be able to find some if you have good fruit connections (apparently, a few are even grown in Florida), are willing to pay far out the ass for them (ironic, given how Cavendish bananas are usually so cheap in stores), and know what other nations tend to call them.
