AWTY said you can't even be safe in a mall. That's BS and fear mongering and some talking point a politician would put forward before they dropped the hammer down on the citizens rights. Mall shootings are extremely rare. Yes, shootings can take place anywhere, which is why you focus on the shooting part of the story, not the mall. AWTY is fixated now on how dangerous malls are, and it's just not logical whatsoever. To be concerned about gun violence in general, which is what I assume you're getting at here, is completely fine. To fearmonger about sharks and malls, is silly, no matter which way you look at it.
And you said, ‘NONE of us are dying in mall shootings. It’s not happening.’ Now, you’re saying that it’s rare, which I agree with. But ‘it’s not happening’ isn’t the same as ‘it hardly ever happens.’
But it’s a fact that the recent tragedy isn’t the first mass shooting to take place in a US mall. Awty was correct that, when it comes to people with grudges and guns, Americans aren’t safe anywhere.
