You’re aware that the UN is not a government, right? It has no power to pass laws in any nation, its officials are not elected, and member states (bar signatories to treaties and agreements) are not obligated to do what the UN says.

Their laws and policies give something very valuable though: "credibility; authenticity".
A condemnation from them makes a person "a terrorist or not".
It's supposed to a "biased" organization that doesn't bend to the will of anybody.
But all that is changing. Especially with situations like "condemning MBS, or Assad, or the U.S terrorism in Iraq, or the utilization of terrorists like Black Water by the U.S in Iraq and Afghanistan".
Probably them snapping against AI is because of a political interest the U.S has. The U.S is afraid of AI being used against it by Gog Magog (China and Russia).
I know from experience that Chinese bots roam the web. Just download a Chess game and see the bots for yourself.
