Between work and personal passwords, I have quite a list and some are really picky about allowing errors or mis-keys. Some of the industry specific programs I use actually require getting in touch with a third party before the normal three strikes - you're out.
I have a notebook with logins and passwords but they aren't in there with any rhyme or reason and often not even what program. I know where they are and luckily only need to go there when I run into a site that requires a new password after X number of days. I also open some programs with one browser and other with another browser. My husband is so very not computer savvy and he doesn't know anything about the notebook.
