In his defense, it is more honest not to accept evolution when you are a Christian because evolution is not compatible with Christianity. It debunks it.

Evolution does not claim that one species can give birth to another. Just like a Latin-speaking woman can not give birth to a Spanish-speaking child although Spanish evolved from Latin language.
