Science is an approach to explaining thing in such a manner as to provide you with a good chance of predicting how the thing will behave in situations under which its behavior had not been previously observed.

Unlike any other form of explanation, science does not set out to make you feel you understand.   It sets out to enable you to confirm whether you understand.
