Every religious group and subgroup has claimed to be favoured by god.

The Jewish people claimed, and some still claim, to be god's chosen people.

Then it was the turn of the Catholics.

Then the Muslims.

Then the protestants.

Not to mention all the various groups that have come and gone over the centuries.

If there is a god, it's probably watching the show down here with utter frustration or with popcorn.
