Only about 10% of lightning strikes diretcly on humans will prove fatal. Despite being basically bags of salty water by mass, humans manage to pollute the salty water with enough junk such that they are really shitty conductors. Consequently even when lightning finds them, most of the bolt of several tens of thousands amps find it easier to ionize the air around the humans and then pass through the air just outside the human than go through the inside of the human, the net result is 9 out 10 humans in the paths of lightning bolt escape their comeuppance.
That’s also why it is not uncommon for human to survive a lightning strike but have most of their cloth and particularly their shoes blown off of their bodies.
