School teachers in Texas are not ‘usually armed’. There are 1200 school districts in Texas only a quarter of those districts have armed staff. And, since which schools have armed staff is kept secret, it’s extremely unlikely that this is a deterrent (the psycho who shot up the school in Uvalde last year had no way of knowing if staff were armed).

I think it is precisely that that's a deterrent. It's why concealed carry acts more as a deterrent than open carry: there is a chance your victim is armed without you knowing that.
