I think the main problem with reincarnation, Deist, has nothing to do with population and everything to do with the fact that we can't seem to find any souls to reincarnate anywhere we look......

I'm reasonably sure that most cultures consider the soul to be essence rather than organ. For instance, the brain is organ and can be located, but someone's personality is considered to be more essence of that brain as a whole. I think that's the idea of the soul ... it is an essence of the body as a whole.

I too am a mild proponent of reincarnation, because of the cyclical nature of the universe. I voted the other way however, because the rational side of my mind still thinks that there would be very little reason for God to create multiple lives for the idiots that live on this planet.
