Well, reincarnation is a pretty specific sort of belief. I've heard people talk about the energy and chemicals in their body moving back into the cycle and calling that reincarnation. That's not entirely accurate description of the notion of reincarnation, but it's a very poetic way to describe rotting away in a hole in the ground. 
"Essences" are another fuzzy one aren't they? I wasn't aware that the prevailing theory and observations regarding our personalities had anything to do with "essences". Flowery language though, which is always nice. Perhaps even more so when dealing with death, as it's a difficult subject to handle for a great many of us for a great many reasons.
