Big Pharma are well aware of the fact that bacteria do not develop a resistance to this natural antibiotic and are studying why this is so ... so that they can develop a synthetic product (that may actually be even more effective than the natural product). This natural product is being used to treat animals in combination with lower doses of antibiotics as this leaves less antibiotic residue in their flesh and thus less risk of humans being impacted by antibiotic residues in the meat they eat.
A group of London doctors researched this Garlic based "wonder drug" and have set up a company to market it. They say in their literature that most traditional Garlic supplements have a much lower potency than theirs ... which is an extract of the active agent in Garlic.
The truth is that this extract is 1000 times more potent than things like Garlic Oil, etc.

There are number of research papers that say that this natural product may be the answer to how to treat emerging superbugs that Big Pharma's drug can't cope with. They say that it is "very effective" against a range of "difficult to treat" antibiotic resistant bacterial strains. There has, however, been no large scale research ... because Big Pharma won't pay for it!
I did recently have a conversation with an NHS doctor (an Indian) who understood what I was talking about ... and uses herbal medicines himself.
If an herbal medicine stands up to scientific scrutiny, it just becomes medicine. Not all doctors are scientists, most are just practitioners. I had a physician friend who thought NASA discovered the 'missing day' from that time God stopped the sun for a Hebrew battle.
