Well, typically, when you don't believe in someone (like another human), it's not because you literally don't think they exist. You know they exist, you simply have no faith in them, and that lack of faith is based in hatred/contempt.

That's not the case here at all - you're using two different meanings for 'believe in'. Because you're, you know, all stupid and stuff.
