I saw that there are governments trying to outlaw the use of AI in political campaigns. Maybe that will help.
The examples they gave may be the ones the author is most concerned with, but they’re also examples where deepfakes would be unnecessary. Worrying about deepfakes of Trump urging supporters to storm the Supreme Court or White House is kind of superfluous when you remember that we already have genuine footage (broadcasted live on multiple sources) of Trump doing exactly that for the Capitol on January 6.
And we also know he’s made it abundantly clear that he feels no remorse for what happened that day.
