The Wolfhounds stay atop the table with a resounding win against the Azzurri. The hooker, Sheehan, fell in two tries, and four others scored once apiece. Ireland started fast, racking up phases at a breathless pace. Italy stitched together some phases but barely threatened Irish territory in the second half.
England 16 - 14 Wales
The Welsh looked the better side in the first half of this one but once again in the tale of two halves, Wales come up short. Fielding a youthful line up the Wales squad benefitted from poor English discipline. Two players in the sin bin gave the 13-man Lions' a try. some space for the Dragons to score. Wales led at the half 14-5. A penalty kick to England in the 47th proved a taste of things to come. Fraser Dingwall squeezed into the corner for a try in the 63rd. Key plays with the boot kept the English pressure on, including a masterful 50-22. A Welshman was sent to the bin in the 69th for a deliberate knock on, England converted the kick, and held on for the 2 point win.
