For context: the old man (unseen in this particular strip) in question got tricked into going to one of those “Hell Houses.” He spent the arc heckling their little scenarios, eventually going full blast on the 9/11 re-enactment. He refused to come to Jesus at the end (he’s actually a devout Christian, but a pretty decent one who even adopted a bisexual daughter in the early 2000s) and so they refused to let him out.
