Absolutely, downbeat. I'm obviously not Buddhist, but the destruction of the huge Buddhas was pretty disturbing for me. As an atheist, I obviously have no religion, but the destruction of history pisses me the fuck off. I don't care if it is a temple where people were taken to be bludgeoned to death. If it is from a time long past, no one should touch it.
