Not to put too fine a point on it, but you have about as much grasp on the culture and mindset of pre-Diaspora first-century Judaism as I do of the Britons, Picts, and Gaels of the same era. That Christianity has gotten it arse-backward doesn't mean that your beliefs are any more valid.
