“I’m getting frustrated by the elites in the party, ‘Oh, they know so much more,’” Biden said on the MSNBC morning show. “Any of these guys that don’t think I should run, run against me. Announce for president, challenge me at the convention.”
Biden told co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski he was running regardless of what pundits and editorial boards were saying, arguing it was average voters whom he cares about.
Biden laughed off a question about whether he’d been tested for age-related illnesses and blasted former President Trump for remaining out of the public eye over the past week.

“If you just look at the data and talk to people around the country, political people around the country, it’s more likely that he’ll lose by a landslide than win narrowly this race,” Axelrod said. “And if the stakes are as large as he says, and I believe they are, then he really needs to consider what the right thing to do here is.”

Biden's stubbornness is going to put Trump into office. Whether or not the accusations of dotage are accurate, Biden's image of competence has been damaged. Trump's campaign will almost surely remind voters of this in October, with ads featuring the more egregious moments of the debate.
Biden still has the best chance of beating Trump. Even the post-debate polling shows the race in a dead heat. Given the incumbency advantage, it’s extremely unlikely that any of the names being floated as a replacement candidate would win.
I agree that Biden’s chances look shaky right now, but it’s four months until the election. If his campaign would take the gloves off, his odds would improve dramatically.
