More than 11 years without tire fitting/repair. This is what one of the wheels of the Curiosity Rover looks like at the moment.
Twelve years into its two year mission...
Fun fact: For the Spirit and Opportunity Rovers, NASA contracted with a local (to JPL) watchmaker to make some special watches that ran on Mars time. A Mars day is 39 1/2 minutes longer than an Earth day. He hand-adapted several of them for the rover teams, so they could shift their circadian rhythms to match the time on Mars, in order to sync with their Mars-based work schedules "driving" the rovers.
My wife gifted me one of the originals, 20 years ago. As a space nerd, it's one of my most prized possessions, right up there with a thermal tile removed from the Shuttle Atlantis.
Disappointing theists since 1968!
